Exercise: Why Laser Tag Beats the Gym

If you’re like most people, then you probably dream going to work out. When it comes to exercise, it seems that there are really no good ways to get fit and healthy without having to drag yourself to do it. Of course, there are some activities that are both good for you while also proving to be pretty fun. Surprise: laser tag is one such activity.

Laser Tag a Great Form of Exercise

Exercise doesn’t always have to be a pain or a struggle. Channel that desire for physical activity into a few rounds of laser tag in one of ShadowLand’s five locations! If you’ve ever played the game before, then you know it’s a BIG workout. By the end, the players are sweating and need time to catch their breath. More than that, though, they’re smiling and chatting happily with others. This is a surefire sign that they had a good time… unlike the miserable shuffle back to one’s home from the gym.

“Laser tag is not only great cardio, but it also works out your mind as you struggle to dodge the other team.” There is a lot of running, ducking, and maybe even jumping, and you’re sure to be thoroughly tired out by the end of a game or two. Another good reason to opt for this exercise activity is because you can rope a bunch of other people into participating; nobody wants to take a group outing to use some treadmills. This is a great way to incentivize your family and friends into getting more active, particularly in the winter when people tend to be more sluggish.

Even if you can’t really go every day, the benefits offered within laser tag are even greater than you might have initially considered. For example, gym memberships these days are often very expensive. In an age where saving money is more important than ever, you may not be able to justify a year’s worth of a membership that you may know already you won’t use enough. Laser tag, however, is commitment-free, can be attended virtually anytime, and… again, is leagues more fun than weights or crunches.

“The average adult can’t play laser tag for longer than 4 minutes without getting exhausted.” That means instead of the recommended 30 minutes to an hour of exercise a few times a week, you can get your workout in without the lengthy gym visit. That means more time for… well, whatever you want to do that isn’t exercising.

It just takes a new perspective to figure out how you can more easily stay healthy while also having fun. Come visit or contact the ShadowLand Adventures nearest you by clicking here today!
